Tailor picks up your latest CV — and stops quiet edits

Several tailor fixes landed together. None of them rewrite an open tailored CV behind your back — each one either starts you from the right document, or asks before a lasting change.

Your latest résumé on a new job

Uploading a new PDF used to leave a quiet trap: tailor for a new job could still copy an older base CV until you found Reset Changes. That first open now checks whether your base is behind the upload. When it is, freehire refreshes the base from your current résumé seed, then opens the tailored copy from that — so the workspace matches what you just uploaded without an extra step.

An open tailor for a job you already started still behaves as before. Upload alone does not rewrite it.

Reset Changes

Reset Changes (History tab) rebuilds the open tailored CV — and your base — from the current uploaded résumé / experience-bank seed. Template and typography stay. It is not “undo the last agent edit” alone; History undo still covers that. Reset does not touch your search profile.

Work history in real date order

Roles seeded from your experience bank are ordered by real time — current roles first, then newest to oldest — even when the printed dates are free-form labels like October 2018 and 2024. Existing tailored CVs pick up the order on Reset (or on that fresh first bootstrap after upload).

Skills go to the profile only when you say so

Skills you add while tailoring stay on that CV until you choose otherwise. When the open document lists skills that are not yet on your search profile, the preview toolbar (next to zoom) offers Add N skills to profile. Confirm, and they merge into the profile that drives filters and match. Saving, downloading the PDF, and Reset never do that quietly.

No more silent bullet truncation

If a role or project is already at the per-role bullet ceiling, a new insert past that cap is refused instead of Sanitize quietly dropping the oldest bullets. The tailor UI surfaces the cap when that happens. The default ceiling stays 20 bullets per role; deployments can raise it with CV_MAX_BULLETS.

Continue an interrupted assistant turn

If a tailor assistant turn stops mid-flight (connection drop, closed tab), the chat can Continue from where it left off instead of stranding a half-applied run. Continue does not append another copy of your request — the transcript already holds the prompt and any partial tool work — so the model is not asked the same thing twice. Half-finished tool calls from the interrupted turn are healed on the next history rebuild (the same path every other turn uses). You still own Undo for anything already written to the CV.
